The Common Admission Test is a premium management entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Management’s. A PC based test, this is an extremely competitive one – It will open the doors for twenty IIMs and more than hundred different prime Business institutes for MBA aspirants. Approximately two lakh seventy thousand candidates take the exam every year for roughly five thousand seats within the IIMs.
The CAT paper contains questions from 3 sections – Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, and Logical Reasoning. Registration for the exam has begun from 5th August onwards and the last date of registration Deadline is 16th September 2020. Admit cards will be available online from 28th Oct 2020. Candidates will register online solely through the official website. It is being foretold that The Indian Institute of Bangalore are going to be hosting this year’s exam although the decision has not been finalized, nevertheless.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to look for CAT, candidates have to fulfill any one of the following conditions: –
- Completed Bachelor’s degree with the required percentage of marks*.
- Completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with required percentage*
- Should be in the final year of bachelor’s degree with required percentage*.
*SC/ST/PwD candidates should have a minimum 45%. For General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates, the minimum is 50%.
Reservation
As per the legal requirements, 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. 27% of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the “non-creamy” layer (NC-OBC). Upto 10% of the seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates.
The examination is scheduled to be held on 29th November 2020. Results are going to be declared by the second week of January 2020.
The duration of the exam would be 180 minutes (3 hours) and it’ll carry 100 questions divided into three sections. Negative marking is given for wrong answers and there’ll be no marking for the nonreciprocal questions. Keep your eyes on our website for all data concerning CAT 2020.
