The Management Aptitude Test or MAT is organized since 1998 to screen candidates for entrance to B-schools in the country for admission to MBA and similar courses. It was recognized as a national level test in 2003 by the Government of India. Ticket to enter more than 600 business schools in the country, its results is also taken into consideration when approaching universities abroad for management courses.

Candidates can choose between the paper and computer based tests. This exam is organized four times are year and the dates for Sept this year are 17st Sept 2023 for the Computer Based test while the Pen based test is on 3rd Sept 2023. The examination consists of 200 questions where each question gives 4 marks for a right answer and deducts 1 mark for a wrong one. The areas covered are - Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiently, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, General Awareness, Analytical and Logical reasoning.

There is no such requirement for appearing at the MAT exams except that the applicant should have completed his or her graduation. Students appearing for their graduation finals can also appear but they need to furnish their passing proofs later on. Application forms can be taken directly from the AIMA centre or its counters elsewhere. The form is also available online on the official site of AIMA. Information to Candidates for Sept 2023 MAT

Mode of Test- Paper based Test & Online

Test Date- 3rd Sept 2023 (Sunday) for Paper Based & 17th Sept 2023 (Sunday) for online.

Test Timing- 10.00am-12.30pm for Paper Based & for online in different Time slot

Eligibility- Graduates in any discipline (Final year students of Graduate Courses can also apply)

Last Date For sale of Forms- 29th Aug 2023 (Tuesday) for paper based exam & 12th Sept 2023 (Tuesday) for Online

Admit Card- Download Admit Card from AIMA website on or after 31st Aug 2023 for paper based exam & 17th Sept 2023 for Online.

MAT Result- Candidates have to download the MAT Score from AIMA website on or after 23th Sept 2023.

Test Pattern for MAT Exam

MAT Question Paper: Duration, Sectional composition & Scoring pattern

• Time duration of 2½ hours.
• 200 objective type questions in MCQs form in MAT question paper.
• Each correct answer is awarded +1 Mark
• Each wrong answer is penalized with negative marking of -0.25 mark
• Merit Score in MAT exam is calculated on the basis of 4 sections only and the score of Indian & Global Environment is separately shown but is not taken into account to calculate the merit or percentile in the MAT September 2023 score card.
• MAT score card displays scaled score out of 800 Marks and not out of 160 or 200 raw scores
• On the MAT score card along with the sectional and overall scaled scores, the sectional and overall percentile is also displayed.
